Laghi Large Round Orange Serving Plate by Roberto Monte

Striking and modern, this serving plate is designed by Roberto Monte, inspired by the colors and depths of lakes ("laghi" in Italian). The round silhouette in lava stone is molded by hand and embellished with two lead-free orange enamel inserts, applied entirely by hand. After the object is fired, it is made impermeable with an immersion in castor oil and subsequently washed various times to lose the excess oil to create a smooth and waterproof surface. This one-of-a-kind piece comes with a certificate of authenticity and instructions for care.
