Unione Walnut Apple Sculpture

This apple-shaped sculpture is a synthesis between references to contemporary art and prized natural materials. Handcrafted on the lathe from a single piece of walnut, it is characterized by a natural fissure symbolically sewn using a brown leather thread tied to the spike that simultaneously stands for needle and stalk. The piece is treated to be woodworm-free and finished with beeswax. The artist's fire-stamped logo accents the underside.
