Woman with Hoopoe Decorative Plate

Featuring a pretty young woman wearing a ruffled blue dotted blouse with a hoopoe on her head, this charming ceramic plate by Tuscan artist Dalila Chessa can be displayed on a wall or in a china cabinet alongside others from the same series. Handcrafted on a lathe, the white clay plate is painted by hand and fired twice in a kiln (at 1000° and 930°C) using the engobe technique which bestows the surface with a glossy finish.
