Barbara Petrecca

Designer - Lombardia, Italy

Set and costume designer Barbara Petrecca’s extensive experience in en plein air theatre productions is the inspiration behind her bold style and eclectic collections. The perfect marriage of scenography and interior design, the Camera delle meraviglioe and Notturno feature lighting pieces handmade of brass, graphite, plaster, resins, textile elements, and vintage furniture using a blend of theatre and tailoring techniques. Each piece tells a story, transforming interiors into suggestive theatrical settings with a dreamlike ambience.

My philosophy is to design, make and install objects that tell visions, to populate environments with evocative and emotional appeal.

BARBARA PETRECCA

Barbara Petrecca trained as a scenographer and costume designer at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts; since 1994 she has worked in the theatrical and opera fields, and since 1998 she has collaborated with important communication agencies for which she invents and creates environments and events with a strong visual impact. Her keen curiosity drives her to try her hand at a wide variety of design and craftmaking practices.

One of her main skills is in the field of jewelry and theatrical props, where she learns the art of flame welding and all metal oxidation techniques. In 2017 she began, at her own workshop in the Pavia countryside, the production of objects and furnishings with a bold and eclectic style. His achievements are transversal and include sculptures, lamps, furniture, textiles and art installations. The collections are composed of unique and original pieces made entirely by hand in limited editions and are an original combination of scenography and interior design.
