Wood Inlayer

Marquetry tradition, in the town of Sorrento, started during the Napoleonic period and originated from the connection of French woodcarving and Neapolitan inlay work. Traditional marquetry still lives in various Sorrento workshops, thanks to true artisans like Biagio Barile, son of an ebony master who learned the trade frequenting carpenter workshops since he was 10 years old. His family-managed lab still creates classic designs using ancient techniques and no laser, also experimenting with modern, colorful objects, creating customizable and one-of-a-kind art pieces.
