Design Talent: Chiara Andreatti

Discover the versatile talent of the young designer and art director Chiara Andreatti. Venetian by origin but deeply rooted in the Milanese design scene, she knows how to combine tradition and innovation through poetic and attractive designs.

Born in Veneto, not far from the beautiful Venice, Chiara Andreatti moved to Milan where she graduated in Industrial Design at IED and attended a master’s program at Domus Academy. She collaborated with relevant design studios such as Raffaella Mangiarotti, Renato Montagner and Lissoni Associati, where she worked for more than ten years.

She is one of the top Italian designers of the moment: Chiara Andreatti’s vision explores and parse the craft culture of her Venetian roots, merging it with a deep, continuous aesthetic research. Her work is based on the belief that a craft and poetic touch on everyday objects can improve the quality of life. Her style could be defined as elegant, balanced and authentic, ranging from pure minimalist pieces to more rustic and warm elements.

In her practice, she combines the love for raw, authentic materials and craftsmanship with her curiosity and creative experimentation which led her to engage in the production of exclusive design pieces for many renowned brands: from Editions MilanoMingardoGlas Italia and Lema to Potocco, Arflex Japan, Non Sans Raison, Starbucks, MM Lampadari, CC-Tapis, Pretziada and Ichendorf.

Chiara Andreatti designed some of the most special pieces of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna collections, such as the elegant and welcoming Loïe Lounge Chair, winner of the prestigious IF Award. Its silhouette is a harmonious combination of comfort and refined design, tradition and modern aesthetics. For Paola C she realized the minimalist Chamelea collection: a selection of home décor pieces inspired by the mesmerizing geometries of shells, with warm neutral tones and a unique eye-catching look.

Product design is only one of Chiara Andreatti’s working field: from 2016 to 2018 she was art director of Texturae, Karpeta and BottegaNove. Over the past few years, she designed exquisitely decorated interiors such as the exclusive Nest Lounge Bar, an eclectic and chic location inside the Four Seasons Hotel Milano. Designed to encourage a calming “cocoon effect” through soft lights, vertical gardens to divide the spaces and comfortable welcoming areas.

One of Chiara’s main source of inspiration is her research on contemporary art, architecture and craftsmanship. Always capturing new insights and ideas from her travels, she is attracted by “the new” and the specific characteristics of every object. Indeed, her work has been published all around the world on major domestic and international magazines such as Domus, Interior, Surface, Living, Wallpaper and Elle Décor.
