Moran, who first visited Italy as a college student, grew up in North Carolina and has the air of a courtly Southern gentleman. He was a graphic designer when he first met Salci in 2003, who had recently left his job as a furniture designer for Cappellini. The only common point in their biographies is that both of their families own small furniture businesses; so it was something of a double homecoming when Moran and Salci decided to launch their own furniture collection in 2005.
Over the last decade, DIMORESTUDIO has become known for creating interiors with a very personal and recognizable style characterized by moody palette, a complex mixture of historcial periods and unexpected choices. Their mutual respect for history is perhaps what most informs their aesthetic. In the spaces thought by Salci and Moran objects created by historical design masters live together with “bespoke” objects all wrapped up by with their love for prints, lights, lacquers and oxidations, to create and forge very unique atmosphere.
Named Designers of the Year of the Scènes d’Intérieur 2014 furniture trade show in Paris Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci create dream interiors inspired and forged by a passion for architecture, fashion, design and the unexpected.
