1 Fauteuil à Dossier Basculant By Le Corbusier & Pierre Jeanneret & Charlotte Perriand - Black Hairyskin
A light, compact chair designed and presented at the 1929 Salon d’Automne along with other important models, such as the 2 Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modèle and 3 Fauteuil Grand Confort, grand modèle armchairs, the 6 Table tube d’avion table and the 4 Chaise longue à reglage continu. As with all of Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand works, the 1 Fauteuil à dossier basculant derives from an in-depth study of human posture. In this particular case, the chair is intended to be relaxing and to foster conversation. Its perfect compositional simplicity, suited to any context, is available in three versions. In addition to the 1929 model, there is the 1928 Villa Church option, and the one exhibited in 1930 at the Union des Artistes Modernes.

Discovering the Artisan
Cassina
Lombardia, Italy | Furniture Maker
Founded by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda in 1927, the company launched industrial design in Italy during the 50’s by taking a completely new approach which saw a shift from handcraftsmanship to serial production. The company was pioneering in the way that it showed a striking inclination for research and innovation, combining technological skill with traditional craftsmanship. For the first time important architects and designers were involved and encouraged to envision new designs to be transformed into projects, a characteristic that still distinguishes the company. Today Cassina continues to represent new ways of living, creating complete and harmonious settings that bring together the best of design for each area of the home.Discover more
