Bocia Bluino Vase

This small vase is called Bocia – a word from the Venetian dialect that means ‘little one’. Its round shape is achieved by first mouth blowing the molten glass. Once cooled the surface of the vase is finished with carving and polishing techniques revealing unexpected shades of color and light reflections. It is made by the Molatura technique which takes its name from the grinding wheel used to carve the cold glass, which in Italian is called “Mola”. This vase is unique and signed. This piece is currently on show and immediately available at Artemest Galleria New York.
