Etna Medium Vase #1 by Martinelli Venezia Studio

Part of Tarsie Geometriche Collection, this modern sculptural object features an iron structure varnished with an opaque black powder that takes the shape of a three-dimensional frame around a cylindrical vase made of black lava stone. The stone is internally embellished using color mastic filler, traditionally used to repair marble and here gaining aesthetic value. This piece is inspired by the ancient technique of intarsia and is also available in a small and a large version.
