Fossiline Set of Paper Knife & Magnifying Glass by Nino Basso #2

Precious witnesses of a distant age, a pair of 130-million-year-old Cleoniceras ammonites from Madagascar serve as jewel-like handles for the paper-knife and magnifying glass composing this exclusive set. The brass components boast a glistening chromed finish, while the lens is fashioned from prized extra-white crystal. Care instructions and an authenticity certificate are included with purchase.

Discovering the Artisan

Design Center 1991
Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy | Accessories Maker
Design Center’s first prototypes by Nino Basso made their debut at the end of the 1980s: home and office accessories defined by formal simplicity and elegant craftsmanship. Already art director of an international fashion brand, Basso established a small artisan firm in Spilimbergo, a town between Venice and Trieste. In 1991, his niece, graphic designer and photographer Cristina Colonnello, joined the brand, expanding to interior furnishings and industrial designs. Basso continues creating numbered series and single pieces that lie at the intersection of art and design.Discover more
