Melotti Slim Amphora

This vase takes its shape from the silhouettes of Greek amphorae and Etruscan Craters. It is a composition of several sections shaped on the potter's wheel and superimposed in the form search. The handles are drawn and cut out on clay slabs to suggest the memory of the ancient using a playful and poetic technique. The coloring with strong but balanced tones is meant to be a tribute to the mastery and expressive power of Fausto Melotti, a great Italian artist and ceramist.
