Consistent with the J.L. Borges' interpretation in his "The House of Asterion", this splendid ceramic statuette depicts the half-man, half-bull Minotaur from the Greek myth as a victim the moment he offers his head in a copper bowl while still stuck in the labyrinth to his executioner, Theseus. The bull's head and the labyrinth are crafted of green clay which turns red after the firing, while the human body is in ivory earthenware.
