Mutazioni Painting by Massimo D'Orta

D’Orta's painting comes to life in the colors and techniques of the past: deep and gloomy blacks, propped grays that pay homage to generations of painters. 'Mutazioni' ('Mutations') is an oil on canvas that represents a turning point for d'Orta's style. The amorphous figures are flanked by cryptic writings, a form of expression that seeks to bring d’Orta's painting to a new level that adds a sound, albeit still not decipherable, to the visual component.
