Gianmaria Potenza’s use of the mosaic is linked to the Venetian tradition and it evokes the lights and colours of the Venetian Lagoon, playing on the water effects, as if it were a constant dialogue between art and water. Potenza’s revolutionary characteristic is to insert the mosaic tiles not only long ways and flat but crossways and projecting outwards. It is a rotating vitreous enamel mosaic sculpture with a 40 cm diameter exhibited at Villa Finaly and at the Museum of Sant'Agostino.
