This sculpture by Raffaello Romanelli is a modern rendition of Romano Romanelli's piece of the same name originally made in 1929-31. Made in plaster, the piece maintains the accurate attention to anatomy and reveals details in the musculature and pose that connote the body of an athlete. A pair of athletic glasses have been added to give the work a more contemporary feel.
