Rich in tonal detailing and imbued with the wonder one experiences in front of the frail beauty of nature, this superb print belongs to a limited series of 90 pieces crafted with the printmaking techniques of etching and aquatint. Chemicals eat into the metal plate creating specific sunken areas and lines designed to hold the ink and transfer it into the final surface, fine Somerset Rag (100% cotton paper). Discovering the Artisan

Angus Hampel
Toscana, Italy | Artist
Born and raised in the United Kingdom, Angus Hampel is an award-winning painter and printmaker. With an unconventional background pursuing Classical Studies at Oxford and working as a journalist and editor, Hampel changed paths over two decades ago after passing by an art school in London. He moved to Tuscany, where he still lives and works, to study art at an atelier in Florence. Hampel’s paintings, etchings, and aquatints are studies in visual meditation and contemplation that convey a sense of wonder at the beauty of life, nature, and her amazing creations.Discover more
