Wisdom Aquatint

Part of limited series of only 15 unframed pieces, this flattering painting is crafted blending etching and aquatint techniques. Chemicals eat into the metal plate used in the printing process creating sunken areas and fine lines, which hold the ink before impressing it into the Somerset Rag surface (100% cotton paper) to achieve the desired image. A luxuriant olive tree is depicted in the mist, its olives covered in gold leaf flaming to life together with the bright moon/sun radiating from behind.
