Italian artisan traditions for contemporary collectible design

Founded in 2025 by Biagio Castellani and Federica Paoli, CASPAL is an Italian brand that combines contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship with a minimalist, highly textural aesthetic. After their experience at the helm of Situér Milano, a brand specializing in metal furniture, the two designers created CASPAL to explore new ways of expressing metal through innovative shapes and sophisticated techniques.
The brand operates between Milan, where it collaborates with specialized workshops, and Valdera, in Tuscany, the founders' homeland. This area, rich in history and manual skills, is a constant source of inspiration for CASPAL and a place of slow and conscious production, rooted in the local cultural context.
The pieces are made from metals such as aluminum, steel, brass, and silver, using traditional techniques (casting, turning, polishing, plating) and contemporary approaches. Research into new finishes and the use of natural metals make each object unique and durable.
A distinctive feature of the brand is the innovative technique of hand-weaving natural willow—a material typical of the Tuscan rural tradition—and finishing it with silver plating. The result is an unprecedented balance between craftsmanship and refinement, between organic and metallic, between past and future. Each piece is hand-woven by master craftsmen and then silver-plated, a process that enhances its texture and ensures its durability.
CASPAL aims to breathe new life into Italian craft traditions, reinterpreting them in a contemporary key, with ethical, sustainable, and limited-edition production that values natural rhythms and human labor.
