A true gem, Violino d’Oro is a charming hideaway nestled along the canals, two minutes from the iconic Piazza San Marco, where the guests can indulge in exquisite art and experience the magnificence of an intimate, truly Italian palace.

The hotel, a collaborative masterpiece by Sara and Elena Maestrelli, honors the family’s legacy of hospitality, curated over three decades by the women of this illustrious Florentine lineage.

Across three remarkable palaces, the hotel resides in a historical building from the 17th century and is designed to celebrate the floating city as a place of cultural encounter throughout history from the 18th century to the present day. A tribute to Venice’s role as a driving force behind cultural movements and great masterpieces, its design and décor showcase a wide range of artistic styles, from ancient art to Oriental influences, as well as unique contemporary art and design pieces.

The hotel showcases exceptional craftsmanship across its fabrics, glasswork, and flooring, with details like original Venetian seminato floors handmade by one of the oldest artisan families still active today. The design blends contributions from master artisans in Venice and Tuscany, emphasizing the hotel's dedication to sustainability by selecting locally crafted items built to endure. Every fabric, piece of furniture, and Murano glassware reflects a commitment to quality and timelessness, combining traditional techniques with contemporary elegance.

The entrance is illuminated by stunning Venetian glass chandeliers, while the floors tell a story of craftsmanship passed down through generations. Handcrafted from a blend of marble pebbles and cement, each piece of marble was meticulously chosen and arranged to create intricate designs. The hotel’s design is a true masterpiece of architecture and artistry, offering a luxurious and unique experience for guests, shaped by the expertise of talented designers and architects.

At Il Piccolo, the hotel's in-house restaurant, a forward-thinking style of cuisine is carved out with a focus on plant-based meals, seasonality, and locally sourced ingredients to showcase Venice's diverse cuisine. With only nine tables adorned with typical Venetian windows overlooking Campo Barozzi in an intimate and cozy space, Il Piccolo invites guests to taste the local flavors of Venice with a sustainable approach. This vision extends beyond food, transforming meals into memorable experiences. Il Piccolo promises to reclaim Venice through locality and tradition, embodying of the city's rich past, dynamic present, and positive future.
