Outdoor Furniture Care & Guarantee Terms
Overview
Your outdoor furniture is covered by a guarantee for lack of conformity, as provided by the applicable law (24 months in Europe), as per our T&C section 4.8. This guarantee does not apply to damage resulting from improper use, insufficient maintenance, or environmental exposure beyond the guidelines outlined here.
1. Proper Use
1.1 Intended Purpose
Artemest outdoor pieces are designed for refined residential living. To preserve their structural integrity and guarantee coverage:
- Use each piece exclusively for its intended function.
- Commercial use is permitted only if expressly pre-approved by an Artemest Sales Agent prior to purchase.
- Any commercial or high-traffic use not pre-agreed with Artemest will void the guarantee.
1.2 Environmental Considerations
Fine materials require attentive placement:
- Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, standing water, or extreme temperatures.
- Protect furniture from severe weather conditions, including heavy rain, strong winds, snow, and frost.
- For coastal or poolside environments, rinse metal surfaces regularly to prevent oxidation from salt or chlorine.
1.3 Safe Placement
- Position furniture on stable and even surfaces to maintain structural balance.
- Keep pieces at a safe distance from grills, fire pits, and high-heat sources.
2. Care & Maintenance
2.1 General Cleaning
To preserve the beauty and longevity of your artisan-made outdoor pieces:
- Clean surfaces gently using a soft cloth, mild soap, and lukewarm water.
- Avoid bleach, harsh detergents, solvent-based products, abrasive tools, and pressure washers.
2.2 Artisan-Specific Care Guidelines
Each Artemest piece is crafted using materials selected by Italian artisans for their aesthetic and durability.
To maintain guarantee coverage, please follow any material-specific use and maintenance instructions provided by the artisan or included with the product. Please refer to the Artemest team in case instructions are missing or you need a copy.
2.3 Fabrics & Cushions
- Store cushions indoors or in a dry, ventilated space when not in use, especially during rain or winter months.
- Address spills promptly and clean according to the textile manufacturer’s care recommendations.
- Prolonged unprotected exposure to moisture or sunlight may compromise the materials and void the guarantee.
3. Seasonal Storage
To ensure long-term durability and maintain guarantee coverage:
- Store outdoor furniture in a dry, sheltered, well-ventilated area, during winter or extended periods of non-use.
- Use breathable protective covers—fully waterproof, non-breathable covers may trap moisture and cause damage.
- Detach sensitive components such as glass tops, umbrellas, or decorative accessories during storms or harsh weather.
4. Actions That Void the Guarantee
The guarantee will not apply in the event of (list below is not exhaustive):
- Damage caused by improper cleaning agents, abrasive tools, or pressure washing.
- Prolonged exposure to moisture, stagnant water, or harsh weather.
- Failure to store furniture appropriately during winter or long non-use periods.
- Unauthorized alterations or repairs.
- Structural damage from dragging or misusing the piece.
- Commercial use that has not been explicitly pre-approved by an Artemest Sales Agent.
