Distinguished for its bold texture and unique aesthetic character, this bowl will make an elegant centerpiece on a table or console in a modern home. The tall silhouette is reminiscent of a blooming tulip bud, the elegantly flaring sides supported by a narrow base. Entirely handmade, this piece is fashioned of black paper clay that combines fiber and paper pulp in the clay mixture. Dynamic horizontal and vertical ridges characterize the bowl surface, enhancing its irregular rim and rich texture. Every one of Paola Paronetto’s creations is unique. Slight variations in shape, colour and size are to be considered a guarantee of authenticity and value. They are finished with non-toxic satin-finish enamels. Although very rarely, it is possible for them to leak after long periods of exposure to water. It is therefore advisable to test their water resistance before using them on delicate surfaces. They should not be used as dining utensils. The white pieces can be washed with water or sanitizing products, whereas the coloured pieces must be treated more gently and cleaned with a feather duster or a soft cloth, dry or moistened very slightly with water.

Discovering the Artisan

Selezioni Domus
Toscana, Italy | Furniture Maker
Selezioni Domus was established in Scandicci, a town in Florence, in 1900 and since then it has been hand-manufacturing brass in an artisanal way, according to the Florentine tradition. The love for brass and its use combined with other fine materials (such as crystal, horn and leather), the fascination for sober and elegant designs, and the collaboration with prestigious architects, make their eclectic furniture and lamps pieces of timeless allure.Discover more
