Portogallo 2 Rug by Francesco Lucchese

This captivating 2009 design by Francesco Lucchese is masterfully rendered by Nepalese artisans on a loom, each knot coming together to reveal a dynamic composition dominated by ornate shapes and motifs in navy blue threads. The central stylized four-pointed star motifs are framed by a bold border composed of smaller geometric motifs to reveal a subtle three-dimensional work of functional decor. Crafted using 100% Tibetan highland wool and New Zealand wool (available also in 100% silk or 50% wool and 50% silk), this superb rug features 100 knots per inch with a 6mm-high pile.
