Bohdan Bielkiewicz was born in 1940 in the Tatar enclave that was then between Poland and Lithuania, the son of Prince (Kan) Atta Baalbekkowwaicz. In 1946 his family's land was expropriated by the Soviet regime and Bohdan began to move with his mother and sister between various cities in Poland and Berlin while his father was deported to Siberia. At 15, he entered the Gdansk Naval Academy where he studied for two years. He learned to assemble kayaks: from then on a constant in his life. The frame is included.
