Handwoven Nero Rombi Cushion

A deft display of craftsmanship, this cushion is a sophisticated blend of African and European traditions.  The cushion cover is minutely woven in Senegal/Mali and subsequently sewn and finalized by hand in Coloriage's workshop in Italy by migrants and refugees. The removable and zipped upholstery is fashioned of a cotton fabric cultivated, spun, and hand-woven in Mali, then decorated with a natural pigment made of earthenware and local herb decoction, and finally bleached with the stencil technique using a natural cream obtained from millet trunk. Padded with 100% kapok.
