Elegant, maximalist and feminine: this is Cristina Celestino. Architect and design talent based in Milan, Cristina founded Attico Design in 2011 and worked for several renowned brands. Discover Cristina’s world through her seductive use of color and sophisticated aesthetics.

Born in Pordenone, Cristina Celestino graduated from the School of Architecture at IUAV University of Venice in 2005 and worked for prestigious design studios, focusing both on interior architecture and design. After founding Attico Design, she opened her own studio and started her way to the top creating exclusive projects for private clients and companies, also extending her work to creative direction and display design.

Attico Design is Cristina Celestino’s design firm: naturally evolving from her experimental work and interior design, it converts special commission projects and research activity into a small series production. Attico Design comes out with the help of Italian expert craftsmen, working with selected metals, textiles, marbles and lacquered surfaces, combining long experience with the care for detail and unique working techniques. Each piece can be a statement in both contemporary or classic décor, thanks to the use of noble materials, their fine craftsmanship, and the mix of traditional elements, combined in a modern way.

Cristina Celestino’s design follow a comprehensive philosophy based on observation and research, connecting old and new, traditional and contemporary to develop original messages and different meanings. Inspired by classical Milanese style, Cristina’s projects play with shapes and material perceptions fostering a dialogue between artisan know-how and contemporary vision.

Exuberant decorative details such as fringes, floral patterns and elegant velvet upholstery find their most authentic source of expression in elevated candy-colored interiors, glamour environments embellished with graphic carpeting and a well-appointed color balance.

Cristina has received many international prizes and honors, including the Special Jury Prize in the Salone del Mobile Milano Award in 2016 and the Elle Deco International Design Award in the Wallcovering category in 2017 with the wall covering project “Plumage” for Botteganove and in 2019 with the wallcovering collection “Giardino delle Delizie” for Fornace Brioni. Each of her pieces features a charming and timeless design, with a sophisticated and delicate flair: the most refined materials are used to create splendid works of art that can effortlessly elevate any mid-century modern or contemporary interior with its elegant and opulent charm.

Cristina Celestino’s talent caught the attention of many renowned brands: she designed the unique Bangle Collection of beautiful modern décor made of colored marble for Budri and unique chairs and armchairs designed with sophisticated lightness, pure colors and delicate use of curves for Billiani 1911. Her experience also includes the creation of splendid vases for Botteganove, featuring a decoration vividly representing exquisitely rendered feathers, entirely hand-painted by master artisans. For Mogg she designed timelessly elegant pendant lamps, covered in fringes and inspired by the petticoat used by women in the 19th century. The same technique was used to design refined coffee tables for Editions Milano.

As an architect and interior designer Cristina Celestino works on several projects, including: hospitality, boutiques, pop-up stores and cafes. She worked with LuisaViaRoma, Fendi and Sergio Rossi going beyond the traditional relations between fashion, art and design and displaying her distinctive style through chic whimsical interiors. Special for its design and function has been the famous Tram Corallo, presented at Milan Design Week in 2018: she imagined an ideal “Cinema Corallo” that circulate in Brera, a Milano district. Through a project of totally tailor-made interior design, unusual and precious for a transport vehicle, the environment reflects the designer’s aesthetic, where precious materials and references to the past, contemporary intuitions and visionary spirit are harmoniously combined.
