Description
This exquisite console was carved in the middle of the 19th century and its wood is treated with black oil to give it a velvety smooth appearance. Natural iron rods are inserted in the structure, bent, and molded by hand to follow the sinuous shape of legs and base. This classic western design is combined with a magnificent jade medallion from 1850 imperial China, whose delicate glow complements the iron accents and creates a striking focal point.
