Description
Deftly fashioned of terracotta, this charming bell's conical shape is inspired by the "trulli", ancient constructions originally used by peasants and farmers that characterize the Itria Valley. Featuring a distinctive roof spire painted by hand in white, this set of bells is decorated with a radiating cross, a primitive symbol of Christian worship. Some of these symbols go back to antiquity, painted for propitiatory reasons or to protect the family living inside from the evil eye, but today they are mostly associated with Christian iconography.
