Wabi-Sabi Ball Black and White Sculpture

Molded on a lathe using the colombino technique (coiling), this spherical sculpture is made of "terraglia bianca", a clay typical of the Lodi ceramic tradition, and finished with a clear glaze. The surface is adorned with thin, irregular black lines, obtained with the englobe method, that run along the diameter of the sculpture adding depth and a dynamic quality. This unique piece will develop over time natural cracks and imperfections, a testament to the Wabi-Sabi philosophy of beauty as impermanent and incomplete.
