For the 2026 edition of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach, Deborah Wecselman presents A Designer’s Retrospective, a living room that unfolds as a portrait of her life and vision shaped by more than thirty years of interior design. Bold, personal, and cosmopolitan, the space offers a journey through memory, travel, and cultural influence, layered into every detail.

The room is organized around intimate moments and thoughtful interventions, where texture, light, and materiality set a dynamic rhythm. A banquette area becomes a cozy gathering point, surrounded by curated art and objects collected over decades of travels and sourced from markets and ateliers worldwide. Every corner reflects Wecselman’s philosophy that great design accumulates over time, allowing a room to tell stories, host conversation, and reveal layers of personality.

In crafting this cosmopolitan space, Artemest collaborated with Wecselman with a selection of Italian craftsmanship that seamlessly integrates into her vision. Sculptural tables and decorative object enhance the interplay of materials, from metals and mirrors to stone and wood, while maintaining the room’s lived-in, personal character. The combination of these artisanal pieces with contemporary elements reinforces the sense of timeless elegance that defines Wecselman’s approach.

Every corner unfolds as a series of intimate moments into my life. Colorful, bold, dynamic - each one is more meaningful as you experience them.

At its heart, the Living Room is a meditation on collecting, layering, and living fully within a space. Bold yet intimate, layered yet harmonious, the room embodies a philosophy of design as a narrative practice, where objects, textures, and moments coexist with confidence, reflecting a life well lived and a world thoughtfully explored.
