The World's Largest Sailing Yacht Debuts, Featuring Exteta's Al Mare Collection

In late April 2026, in the historic Joubert graving dock at Saint-Nazaire, Orient Express and Chantiers de l'Atlantique celebrated the naming of the Orient Express Corinthian. The moment marked the brand's first venture onto the sea, and it did so with fitting ceremony: an aerial salute, the hoisting of the ship's three rigid sails, and the breaking of the colors to the strains of the Marseillaise. At 220 meters and 15,000 tonnes, the Corinthian is billed as the largest sailing yacht in the world, a vessel that transposes the romance of the great ocean liners and the original Orient Express trains onto the open water.

Below the technology lies a world shaped by nearly 2,000 craftsmen, artists, and ateliers, working to the vision of architect Maxime d'Angeac, Orient Express Creative Director. The interiors draw on the golden age of travel, rendered in a spare, contemporary idiom: 54 suites clad in leather, precious wood veneers, and marble, each with a 3.6-meter panoramic window; five restaurants under multi-Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno; eight bars, including an Art Déco speakeasy and a 115-seat cabaret; a Guerlain spa, a pool, and a marina. Every detail pays tribute to the enduring appeal of the unhurried journey.

It is on the yacht's open decks that Exteta's contribution comes into its own. Developed with d'Angeac, the Al Mare collection comprises three essential pieces — a folding chair, a low table, and a series of coffee tables — that capture Exteta's belief that true elegance lies in restraint.
