Betulla XL1 Vase by Paola Navone

Exquisitely rendering the natural pattern that adorns the bark of thee birch tree ("betulla" in Italian), Paola Navone has designed a captivating duo of vases in a transparent mouth-blown glass that can be displayed together for a dynamic effect. The gentle curves that adorn the external surface of the piece layer one on top of the other, evoking the asymmetrical motif of this elegant wood. Using the silk-screen printing technique, the decoration mixes fine sand of melted crystal, raised copper, and gold. The piece is fired twice at 560°.
