Striking and unique, the design of this soup plate was painted by hand using the traditional technique of "engobbio" with blue, black, and light grey over the white background. On it, two blue orchids with leaves and roots run around the perimeter of the plate, creating an eclectic decoration. This piece is part of the Blue Bestiary collection, inspired by the artist's love for the Dolomites, and by two books: a manuscript published in Northern Italy around 1350-1375 concerning herbs, and "The Book on Imaginary Beings" by J.L. Borges.
