Catene Nero Bowl by Gio Ponti

$260

Catene Nero Bowl by Gio Ponti - Manifattura Richard Ginori 1735

DESCRIPTION

Part of the Catene collection, created by legendary designer Gio Ponti in 1926, when he was Richard Ginori's artistic director, this elegant bowl is a versatile and striking addition to a modern table. Its elegantly silhouette is crafted of porcelain and marked on the interior rim and around its exterior with a mesmerizing pattern of rectangles, bringing to mind a series of chains ("catene" in Italian). This piece is called "Nero" because of the black color of the decoration, strikingly contrasting with the white of the background and elegantly complementing the gold rim on the edges.
