Catene Nero Impero Vase with Lid by Gio Ponti

Catene Nero Impero Vase with Lid by Gio Ponti - GINORI 1735

This stunning vase with lid was crafted of porcelain in a splendid Empire style, evocative of the elegance of 19th century. The traditional shape, with a cubic base and elongated curves topped with a conical lid, strikingly contrasts with the modern Catene pattern named after the repetition of a rectangular motif that brings to mind the links of a chain (catene in Italian). Designed by master Gio Ponti in 1926, this decoration is still current, with its striking black color, complemented by the gold details that grace this superb piece of decor.
