Catene Smeraldo Cake Stand by Gio Ponti

Catene Smeraldo Cake Stand by Gio Ponti - Manifattura Richard Ginori 1735

Part of the Catene collection, designed by iconic artist Gio Point in 1926, when he was creative director of the brand, this cake stand is a superb combination of traditional aesthetic and modern sensibility. Composed of a large plate resting on a round-based pedestal, this piece is crafted entirely of porcelain, whose white background is adorned with a garland of emerald green geometric patterns that create a chain-like motif running all around its rim. To complete the design, a precious gold band marks the edges of the base and tray.
