Catene Zaffiro Set of Gravy Boat and Spoon by Gio Ponti

Catene Zaffiro Set of Gravy Boat and Spoon by Gio Ponti - Manifattura Richard Ginori 1735

A superb addition to an elegant dinner or a family reunion, this exquisite set of gravy boat (cc 300) and spoon was crafted of porcelain on a design by Italian master Gio Ponti from 1926. The Catene collection, named after the Italian word for chains, is a stunning series of geometric patterns that repeat in an abstract garland to adorn the rim of its items. In this case, it graces the base of the gravy bowl, while the edges of both pieces are accented with a gold line for a glamorous effect. This eye-catching series is called "zaffiro" from the sapphire blue of the chain pattern.
