This tall, cylindrical vase is handcrafted using the slab technique, whereby smooth slabs of porcelain are cut in exact pieces and hand-shaped around a mold. The piece boasts a glossy finish adorned with horizontal cobalt blue bands intersected by vertical gold bands on a white background. Uniform texture and color definition are obtained by placing pigments onto a flat plate, where the porcelain is placed before being molded into its final shape.
