Singular in both concept and design, this vase is part of the Cochleae Collection which includes three designs inspired by the life stages of snails (from the Latin word cochleae). Handcrafted using glass and calcarenite, a historic fossil-rich stone only found in Matera, this vase symbolizes the last stage, when the invertebrate body (the pink curved blown glass tube) discharges from the shell (the semicircular stone element) after outgrowing it. These two components are not glued and can be taken apart to create new objects, following the concept of circular design approach.
