Colapesce Code Decorative Plate #4

Part of the Colapesce Collection, this superb decorative plate in fine red clay draws inspiration from a popular Sicilian legend praising the heroic gesture of a half-human, half-fish creature who sacrificed his life to prevent the island from sinking. The striking decoration is minutey painted by hand and comprises four fish tails in a deep-blue hue emerging from the delicate turquoise background.
