Dysfunctional lemming

Dysfunctional lemming is one of the five archetypes of porcelain lemmings designed, modeled and cast by Daniel Cavey. Each lemming is signed and numbered, and was part of a limited edition made for the installation "Descent Proposals". Cavey’s installation addresses population density, upon which lemming “outbreaks” depend, and places in evidence the fragility of northern tundra ecosystems, the transience of key organisms that have evolved to occupy specific niches within that ecosystem.
