This carpet designed by George J. Sowden is part of a limited collection of 36 pieces that was entirely executed using Tibetan traditional artisanal methods by expert Nepalese artisans. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind carpet whose wool was treated and then knotted entirely by hand. The wool is one of the finest in the world because it was harvested from Tibetan animals that graze at very high altitudes. The dark background and vivid red decorations of this piece make it a striking addition to any home. Handmade by craftsmen in Uma technique. Life's Commodities 2004 Collection.
