Named after the Italian word for counterpoint, which in music is the act of merging different styles and melodies in one piece, this decorative panel by Amelia Corvino combines two contrasting cultural inspiration in one work of art: a typical Islamic geometric motif in black on the bottom, and a more Western pattern typical of damask fabric boasting a white hue on the top. A refined piece of decor, it is fashioned of refined Venetian mint green damask and internally filled with fine natural cotton. The frame is made of wood and is painted by hand.
