Low Green Bugnato Vase by Il Vetro di Empoli

Low Green Bugnato Vase by Il Vetro di Empoli - Eligo

An exquisite example of the Empoli glassware tradition, this cylindrical vase's green hue, the famous "Verde Empoli", results from the iron oxide contained in the sand of the local water basins used since the early 1900s for the glass production of wine bottling. Entirely mouth-blown, this vase exudes sober elegance with the soft movement of its surface worked by master glassmakers using the bugnato technique, whereby each depression is made by hand using a special tool, making each piece entirely unique.
