Nocturnal Climbing Flowers Dinner Plate

Part of the Blue Bestiary collection, this unique dinner plate was made of clay with a glazed surface and decorated entirely by hand using the "engobbio" method. Featuring an eclectic style and blue, light grey, and black colors over the white background, this piece depicts a climbing Flower. This unique scene was inspired by J.L. Borges' "The Book of Imaginary Beings" and by a manuscript on herbs entitled "Compendium Salernitanum" published probably in Venice around 1350-1375.
