Handmade by masterful craftsmen of terracotta with an unleaded glaze, this vase was a traditional wedding present in Sardinia. Originally a small drinking pitcher that was intended to be kept on the nightstand, after the introduction of running water, it became purely ornamental, growing in size. Designed by Sardinian craftsman Walter Usai, this piece is adorned with the classic Sardinian symbols of roses, leave, and "pavoncelle" a decorative element evoking fertility that dates back to the 6th century.
