Opus II Hand Woven Tapestry

Opus II Hand Woven Tapestry - Costantini Atelier

The title of this piece takes its name from an ancient technique of overlapping bricks to build stone huts (tholos), ancient rural shelters used by shepherds in central Italy. This tapestry has been woven using a combination of handmade and mechanical spinning yarns:hand-spun Tibetan wool, cotton and linen. The irregularities in the woven surface texture are a result of a totally handmade woven process and different shades of color are due to hand-dyeing yarns.
