Part of a collection of sabrage sabers, this exquisite piece offers a unique and sophisticated way of opening a bottle of champagne, continuing a tradition that started during Napoleon, in which military officials from the French army would "decapitate" sideways a bottle of champagne to celebrate a victory on the battle field. The blade of this sword is not sharp, since it only needs to cut the glass edge of the bottle to pop the cork. The olive wood handle is adorned with engraved steel elements.
