Slate Bookcase by Martine Bedin
Description
Designed by Martine Bedin, a founding member of the Memphis Group in the 1980s, the Slate is a totem bookcase featuring an architectural structure inspired by the buildings of the designer's hometown in Corsica. Cube-shaped boxes made of black Belgian marble and HPL laminate are stacked on top of each other, with longer sections of Padouk wood forming shelves. The dramatic chromatic visual effect is enhanced by the laminate block's vibrant-colored patterns with marbled ink effects. This bookcase is part of a limited edition of seven pieces by five famous designers.
