Since 1881, Antonio Sala has produced high-quality made-to-measure furnishings from its home base in Camnago di Lentate sul Seveso in the Province of Monza and Brianza. Their professionalism and skills in sculpture, art, and architecture have allowed the company to grow and evolve to its current form, under the leadership of the fifth generation. The company’s furniture heritage shines through today with a contemporary vision that aims to satisfy a variety of needs: collections and 360° design projects for residential, commercial, and public spaces.
Unique solutions and realizations in the furniture world
Thanks to the experience accumulated since its foundation in different fields, the company offers customers, architects, professional studios, and interior architects a full service from the creation of bespoke furniture to the production and installation of complete furnishing projects. The company's history starts in 1881 when Giuseppe Sala, trained as an artist and sculptor, began his entrepreneurial career with the creation of a cabinet-making workshop in Camnago. His son, Antonio, also a sculptor, creates the Antonio SALA Company, which exported its collections to the United States. After the Second World War Italy’s Antonio handed down the company to his three sons. The workshop started exporting products to European markets undergoing reconstruction while growing its presence in the United States. In 1969 Antonio SALA, son of Ernesto, took over the family business and after a great period of expansion, successive oil crises and economic crises in Europe shook consumer habits and the furniture market. Antonio SALA then turns to manufacturing custom-made furniture, classic or contemporary, and creating major turnkey projects.
The company’s knowledge of international markets enabled it to work on projects all over the world for hotels, prestigious private properties, presidential residences, as well as institutional projects. Thus, between 1989 and 2000, Antonio SALA worked on the construction of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Following the unexpected death of Antonio SALA, in 2004 his son Alessandro took over the company as a worthy heir to a long line of talented parents. Aware of the major economic and technical challenges Antonio continued to invest in production equipment and strengthen the design office. Nowadays, Antonio SALA has two production workshops: one for contemporary furniture that is fully equipped with digital machines and another, more traditional workshop, that is dedicated to the production of classic furniture, integrating the great fields of cabinet making, sculpture, marquetry, gilding, upholstery, varnishing, etc..
